He’s in the dream and wants to wake up, but when he does he has this giant wolf inside him, and he jumps off the front porch into the yard and tries to roll it away, but it won’t go. It’s rapidly taking over and he is growling and he feels his tailbone begin to extend until there is this long beating thing behind him. His eyes have rays that spread from pupil into the iris. Their sometimes called flashes, and is a sign of psychic powers. That is why the color of them cast off a golden hue.
He turned his head this way and that as the Wolf Dream began, and the air was full of scents he was starting to recognize. He opened his mouth and his tongue came out, as he started panting. He opened his eyes wide, and then howled as the dreamspike built to finish the Wolf Dream. He was coming into the Wolf Dream too strongly; to try to control this spike was like trying to contain the wolf from coming out. He could only control his thoughts of the real world, keeping him from entering the Wolf Dream too quickly. Step by step he learned balance; wolf whenever the wolf was needed and the man whenever the man was needed. He let himself be drawn into the dream.

I had been at it for many years and managed to survive, but my back was aching; I needed to take a break. Hunter surveyed the clouds above him as they darkened the night sky. He’d been scoping this location out the last couple of days making sure it overlooked the campsite. Surveying the dark ominous clouds Hunter saw bright red glowing eyes shone into his, expressing a rage that made him cringe. He blinked his eyes several times, the creatures in the dark clouds confirming it was them even though the darkness hadn’t lifted. Within seconds his mind was crowded with the memories of the past wars. The images of the Shadow Warriors flashed in his mind and he flinched.
Sometimes he wondered how much longer he could do this, and sometimes he knew it would never end. He watched as they reached the top of the mountain, hovering in the dark clouds as though debating direction, as paranoia crept at the edges of their thoughts. Hunter laid on the wet rocks from the pouring rain, so he could listen. It took a while, but soon he heard it. As he brought out the array of objects he could feel them coming closer, the sound increasing. Then more solid sounds were audible, in particular footfalls, or were they hoof falls? He wasn’t quite sure, but it didn’t matter. The crashing and breaking of foliage moved closer until an outline appeared in the dark.
He was right , he had heard both. Looking back over his shoulder, seeing what he could in the clouds. He remained silent, but his eyes seen all he needed to know. He remained outside picking up each object and delivering its incantation until the chill bit into him. Then he returned back to the camp and moved in by the fire and continued examining the objects until the embers burned so low he could barely see. Eventually he went inside his tent, went to his cot and fell into a dreamless sleep, exhausted by his efforts.

It was a strange night, alternating between dark and light as the wind pushed the clouds across the full moon. In a dark moment, Sazzy considered getting a torch, when suddenly her land was bathed in a silvery light. The moon was brighter than she’d ever seen, bouncing off from the lake, illuminating the path to the camp better than any firelight. Sazzy shivered, and looked back at the lake, which was cut with a white path to the heavens. A tree had fallen recently by the shore. Tomorrow she’d have to cut it up for firewood. She put another log in the firepit and settled back to enjoy the warmth. The wind continued to roar. She heard her tent flaps waving. A tree branch knocked against the walls. She huddled over the flames. Finally, the rain came. The wind increased. The tree continued to knock. She he was taken by the lake again. The fallen tree was gone. Maybe it had never been there, a trick of the light. “So this is her then?’ the youngest of the rangers spoke up. ”She’s just a woman, isn’t she?“ “I suppose she is.” Brandon said, his eyes twitching as he withheld a smile. “But she has a purpose.” “Sazzy’s here because here is where I want her, Stan.” Hunter slapped the young man on the back as he came between them. “The man we’re hunting is dangerous. He’s from one of the northern tribes, an effective raider. They say he was fierce on the battlefield, killed dozens of ours before we took him. They probably should have killed him there but, soldiers have their orders and their orders were bring him in alive, so they took him to the boss.” “And you think he’s here?” Sazzy asked. “This is only camp within a three days walk from the city.” the other man, the tattered, scared ranger, said this. “He doesn’t know it’s run by a Shadow Hunter.” Sazzy turned to Hunter. “You said he was in a boat.” “If he’s in a boat, he doesn’t need three days,” Hunter looked at her. “He’s already here.” She pulled her shawls around her tighter, she realised suddenly that she was shivering from the rain.
